The Airbus A340 family are long range, wide body, commercial passenger jet airliners. The A340-500 was developed from the smaller A340-300. It is 223 feet long, seat 270-310 passengers and has a range of  7,300 miles. The A340-500 and 600 have a larger wing and are powered by the Rolls Royce Trent 500 engine, each with 62,000 pounds of thrust.
The Airbus A340-600 flew for the first time on 23 April, 2001. The Airbus 340 production program came to an end on 10 November, 2011, due to the competition with the Boeing 777 which could carry as many passengers, as far and with significantly less fuel, as it had only two engines. Most A340-600's have been replaced by twin engine airliners.
Lufthansa is a German Airline first founded on 06 January, 1953. With it's subsidiaries, it is the second largest European airline. The Lufthansa Group with all it's subsidiaries have over 700 aircraft in service, making it one of the largest airline fleets in the world. This aircraft with registration D-AIHF had it's first flight on 13 January, 2004. It was delivered to Lufthansa on 06 February, 2006. Lufthansa had 10 A340-600's in service. They are all being replaced by the Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 747-9.
This 1:250 scale, solid resin reproduction of the Lufthansa Airbus A340-600 is a very rare, extremely detailed and out of production model, and requires only minimal assembly. The approximate dimensions are
11.5" long with a 10.0" wingspan.
